Types of Tumble Dryers
Tumble dryers are a very important device nowadays, especially with the erratic behaviour of the weather. It is a useful device as well and with the technology upgrading every minute, the cost of them have also come down tremendously. The basic types still remain of three types – the Condenser type, the Vented type and the Gas run ones.
The condenser type is one in which the wet clothes are dried by passing hot steam through them. This changes the water in the clothes to condensed molecules which Air Track are then collected in a reservoir that can be either emptied or drained out through a pipe. The vented type of tumble dryers is another type wherein the warm air is forced into the clothes through a vent or a small telescopic hole from a wall. This is best suited for independent homes and is not advised for apartments. The third type is the gas dryers, which are faster and inexpensive when compared to the others. The gas has to be provided by the Confederation of Registered Gas Installers, who would give gas supply to the machine.
The basic type of tumble dryers, also called as the entry-level dryers, spin the drum that contains the wet clothes, in one direction only . This can lead to tangling of clothes and also can cause creases on them, thus making it difficult to iron. The better models, however, cause less tangling of clothes and also the crease is less, as they use the reverse action dryer, wherein the drum spins in both the directions simultaneously. This way the clothes untangle themselves easily, due to the two way spin.
